An Indo-Pak royal wedding in Jaipur

JAIPUR: February 2015 will see Jaipur host another royal wedding. Kunwar Karni Singh Sodha, son of Rana Hamir Singh (the present Rana Saheb of Amarkot in Pakistan) and Rani Nalini Prabha, got engaged to Padmini Singh, daughter of Thakur Man Singh Rathore of thikana Kanota in Rajasthan in June this year. And they will tie the knot in Jaipur next year in February .
Thakur Prithvi Singh Rathore of Kanota, the bride's uncle, told us, "This wedding will see two royal families from Pakistan and India come together for an auspicious occasion.We had a small engagement ceremony in June in India, where the boy and girl exchanged rings, but now Thakur Man Singhji will go to Pakistan for the official tilak ceremony .About 30 close family members will be in Pakistan for the ceremony , which will be held at Rana Jagir in Pakistan on December 7."
"The wedding will be held at the Narain Niwas on February 20, 2015. Prior to the wedding, the Ganesh Sthapana ritual will be held on February 14. The wedding functions will have authentic Rajasthani food on the menu. We will have Rajasthani folk, not Bollywood music, in the functions. It will be a complete Rajasthani royal wedding."
According to actor Rahul Singh, who is related to the royal family from Kanota, "The wedding preparations are in full swing. Many baratis are expected to come from Pakistan. The expected guest list will include celebrities and royal families from India and Pakistan."
