The second season of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu (MEK), the Telugu version of popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, will start on December 8 on Maa TV.

“It will be telecast at 9.30pm from Monday to Friday,” the channel said in a statement.

The first season of the game show was a big hit with an over 40 million Telugu TV viewers tuning in to watch the show.

“The unprecedented emotional [connection] brought by Nagarjuna, and his empathy and towering presence as the host made Maa TV bring back the game show within four months of the last series,” the channel added.

Maa TV has conducted a rigorous selection process to shortlist participants for the hot seat out of the 3.4 million responses. Each hot seat contestant can win prize money of up to Rs10 million (Dh592,820).

The systematic randomisation process was conducted by Sundram BPO under the overall process supervision of the international audit firm Ernst & Young.
