ANKARA
Fenerbahce narrowly defeated Balikesirspor 1-0 in a Turkish Spor Toto Super League week 12 game played in Balikesir province on Saturday.
In the 40th minute, visitors Fenerbahce's Portuguese central midfielder Raul Meireles crossed the ball from the right side. The ball hit Balikesirspor left-back Bulent Cevahir's foot and went in the goal.
The Yellow Canaries now have 24 points. The Istanbul club is temporarily the leader of the Turkish league.
