Activists of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation torched the effigy of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy here on Friday and demanded his immediate arrest in connection with ‘money laundering cases’ pending against him.

The activists led by TNSF Prakasam district president P.Bhanuchander took out a procession from the NTR Bhavan, the party office, to the NTR statue at Addanki bus stand centre here, shouting slogans against Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and the YSR Congress. “Those involved in serious economic offences should only be behind bars,” said TNSF general secretary M. Dhananjay.

The YSRC was trying to instigate the people against the government at a time when Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu had made loan waiver to farmers a reality, disproving the Opposition party's stand that the poll promise was impractical, added TNSF leader T.Ram Babu, before TNSF activists E.Sai and Sk. Rafeez burnt the effigy of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy.

TDP men arrested

Kadapa Special Correspondent adds: Police arrested over a dozen Telugu Desam Party activists after they burnt an effigy of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at the TDP office here on Friday. Kadapa One Town Circle Inspector Sadasivaiah and staff picked up some TDP activists from their party office and a few more after they burnt the effigy and raised slogans against the Statewide dhrana launched by the YSRC in protest, against the failure of the Chief Minister in fulfilling his poll promises.
