The Walt Disney Company’s Indian subsidiary Disney India has partnered with the home-grown fashion label Satya Paul to introduce a stylish retro-yet-modern style collection.

Titled as ‘Disney Mono Pop by Satya Paul’, the range aims to pay homage to the various interpretations and the evolution of the company’s iconic cartoon characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Adorned with strong graphics and based on a palette of monochromes, sepia and bright pop hues, the line features an array of stunning printed sarees and ready-to-wear pieces like tunics, scarves, stoles, ties and accessories.

The range will be available for purchase in 10 Satya Paul flagship stores across five cities and online at the Indian e-commerce destination Jabong.com.

While talking about the collaboration, Disney India’s VP and head of Consumer Products, Abhishek Maheshwari, says, “Disney is a multi-generation brand with characters that continue to inspire fashion designers globally. We are delighted to collaborate with Satya Paul to lend their creative expertise in designing this inspiring range for fashion conscious fans.”

Our halo collaborations have always created unique offerings which keeps us at the helm of the creative fashion business in India and worldwide,” he adds.

Sanjay Kapoor, the managing director of Satya Paul’s holding company Genesis Colors, also spoke on the partnership, “For three decades now, the Satya Paul design studio has been synonymous with distinct print innovation and ground breaking design. Therefore, our collaboration with Disney is an exciting platform to extend the brand's core vision and we are looking forward to launching this Global Indian line inspired by two of Disney's iconic characters.”

Inspiring talented designers the world over, cultural icons Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, continue to be in high demand with leading international luxury brands such as Dolce and Gabbana, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Elie Saab.

Founded in 1993, based in Mumbai, Disney India, also known as The Walt Disney Company (India), develops and produces motion pictures and videos for children.

Launched by the Pakistan-born eponymous designer Satya Paul in 1985, the Indian designer label Satya Paul specializes in ethnic womenswear and accessories. The label is sold through a network of over 41 Satya Paul stores and around 1,500 retail points in India and some 250 Satya Paul retailers worldwide. (PB)
