Maserati celebrates production of 50,000 cars at its Giovanni Agnelli Plant

Italian sports car maker Maserati had more than one reason to raise a toast as the brand not only celebrated its 100th birthday, but also achieved a milestone of producing 50,000 cars at its Giovanni Agnelli Plant, in Grugliasco.

The impressive feat was achieved in less than two years.  The plant, where the Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans are manufactured, was officially inaugurated in January 2013. With a production ramp-up designed to maximise the quality of the finished product, Maserati was able to produce 50,000 luxury cars in just 22 months.

The car number 50,000 to roll out of the assembly line was a Quattroporte S Q4 painted in grigio maratea shade, with red and black interior upholstery. It is headed for the US market, says Maserati.
