Another Renault city car claims Trophy Argus award.

Following in the footsteps of the new Clio in 2012 and the Captur in 2013, the latest-generation Twingo is the third Renault passenger car to receive an Argus Trophy award.

The new Twingo came out on top in the Versatile City Car class ahead of the Toyota Aygo, the Peugeot 108, the Hyundai i20, the Mini Cooper, the Citroën C1, the Smart Forfour, the Smart Fortwo, the Skoda Fabia and the Opel Corsa.

The jury was composed of vehicle evaluation experts, journalists and market research specialists, and was presided over by Alexandrine Breton des Loÿs, president of the Argus Group. The new Twingo was acclaimed for its originality, its balanced specification package and its fit with the automobile industry's fundamental values.

The jury notably praised the new model's cabin space in relation to its overall volumes, its turning circle and passenger access to the front and rear seats, as well as to its small three-cylinder engine.

The residual value of the SCe70 Zen version (48.50 percent after three years/45,000km), its running costs (€0.33/km over a period of three years/45,000km), its low combined-cycle fuel consumption (4.2 litres/100km) and CO2 emissions of just 95g/100km also helped to tip the balance in its favour ahead of other cars in its segment that were similarly released in 2014.

The new Trafic adds another industry award to the prestigious list already notched up by Renault's van range

After being named Van of the Year 2015, the new Trafic has harvested another accolade for Renault's LCV range. Renault is the only manufacturer to have harvested five industry awards in this class following prizes for the Master in 2004 and 2011, the Trafic in 2002 and the van version of Kangoo in 1998.

The Renault Trafic came first in five of the seven criteria that were taken into consideration, namely its environmental footprint, available associated services, travelling comfort, running costs and 'jury's favourite'. With an overall rating of 484 points, it outscored the Ford Transit 2T (98 points) and the Opel Vivaro (99 points).

The new Renault Trafic stood out through the energy efficiency and performance of its new Twin Turbo engines (dCi 120 and dCi 140), its practical cargo area, its driver-friendly controls and the travelling comfort of its cabin which doubles up as a mobile office. The high standard of the services delivered by Renault's Pro+ network also played a part in its success.

The new Trafic symbolises how Renault has capitalised on its long experience as a manufacturer of quality LCVs to offer a modern, comfortable van that is even more closely tailored to meet the needs of business customers and contribute to the success of their activity. New Trafic is assembled in France at Renault's Sandouville plant.
