Hundreds of devotees witnessed the Karpoora Padiyetra Sevai in the early hours of Thursday marking the conclusion of Kaisika Ekadasi festival at Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple and offered worship to Namperumal at Arjuna Mandapam, in front of the sanctum sanctorum .

This is one of the important annual festivals, falling a month ahead of the Vaikunta Ekadasi festival.

The rituals associated with Kaisika Ekadasi commenced with Namperumal proceeding to Revathy Mandapam at about 10 a.m. where 365 holy vastrams were offered to the Lord.

At the end of this ritual, Kaisika Puranam was recited by Vedic Pandits for several hours through the night.

In the early hours of Thursday, Namperumal was taken to the sanctum sanctorum . Devotees gathered at the Arjuna mandapam and offered worship during the important ritual of ‘Karpoora Padiyetra Sevai’.

Religious fervour gripped the Arjuna mandapam as Namperumal was taken on the steps leading to the sanctum sanctorum , when the devotees offered ‘pachchai karpuram’ to the deity. Arayars recited Abhinya Pasuram at each and every step.
