| Inmate accused of attacking prison guard |

POLKTON — A Lanesboro Correctional Institution guard was taken to the hospital after being attacked by an inmate on Monday, prison officials said. Marcus Alston, 37, attacked corrections officer Edwin Faulkner with a razor blade, cutting Faulker’s face, according to Keith Acree, a spokesman for the N.C. Department of Public Safety. Faulker was treated and released the same day at a nearby hospital, Acree said. Read More. |
