Ashutosh Gowariker's period movie, "Mohenjo Daro", has been in the news ever since Hrithik Roshan has been roped in to play the lead in the big project.

Reportedly, the film, which is scheduled to release worldwide on 22 January 2016, has started the pre-production work in remote areas of Bhuj in Gujarat, reported Deccan Chronicle.

The sets of the film have been constructed keeping in mind the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, which the period drama is based on.

The actors are also undergoing costume, make-up and hair trials before they start shooting for the film.

The production house has been constantly updating in their Twitter handle about the pre-production work of the huge budget movie.

"Mohenjo Daro" is a love story that dates back to 26th century BC. New-comer Pooja Hedge will play the lead actress opposite the Bollywood hunk.

The film, set during the time of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, is said to be a Gowariker's mega project with a massive budget.

Reportedly, Roshan has charged a whopping amount of ₹50 crore for the film. Apparently, the makers have also agreed to pay the honey-eyed actor extra money on daily basis, if they fail to complete the shooting within the time allotted by the "Bang Bang" star.

There were also reports that with such a massive amount, Roshan could be the highest paid actor in the country and "Mohenjo Daro" the most expensive film.

Gowariker, who is known for his super hit movies, "Lagaan" and "Swades", had earlier worked with Roshan in the blockbuster period drama, "Jodhaa Akbar".

Moreover, Roshan, who is known to get into the skin of the characters he portrays, is undergoing rigorous training sessions and has also interacted with archaeologists to enhance his knowledge on the ancient civilisation.
