RAIPUR: Union home minister Rajnath Singh, governor, chief minister Raman Singh, and other senior leaders paid tribute to slain CRPF jawans of 4th Battalion in Mana on Tuesday.
Rajnath said that Maoist problem was a challenge before the nation. "Our morale is high. We are determined to continue our fight against Naxalism," he said at a press conference after paying homage.

Reiterating that the Centre and state would continue to take all strategic steps to deal with the Maoist menace, Rajnath described the ambush on security forces as "sad and unfortunate". He also described the killings as an act of cowardice.
"But our brave jawans fought with national spirit and fulfilled their duty. I salute their bravery," he said.
All injured personnel are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the state capital. The union minister said he, along with the chief minister, visited the hospital to inquire about the health of injured personnel who, he said, are out of danger.
He said families of security personnel killed in the attack, will be given Rs 38 lakh each, while injured will be provided Rs 65,000 each, besides free treatment.
When asked as to what visible strategic changes have been brought about in dealing with Maoist activities after Modi government came to power, the minister said security forces for last 15 days have been on an area domination mission in Chintalnar-Chintagufa region, an area infested by Maoists. "The very fact that security forces have entered and carried out their operation itself is an indication," he added.
The minister parried questions about the possibility of deployment of Army to take on Maoists and issues pertaining to development of infrastructure such as hospitals in tribal Bastar region.
"I don’t remember anyone from NDA having favoured deployment of army," he said, adding that All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is being developed in the state capital.
