Development check: Surat BRTS, bridge,railway station,more

-TSC meeting of Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) has forwarded its decision to approve Rs. 3.90 crore tender for construction of 36 BRTS bus stops on Dumas resort-Sarthana octroi post route under phase-1 project. Each bus-stop will have four sliding doors, RFID readers, RF controllers,RF switches and RFID tags. Mumbai based technocrat company has got the order.
-Construction of bridge at Nana Varachha – Savji Korat junction has been stalled for last 8 months. MLA Kumar Kanani and Councillor Arvind Gothani have declared opening of barricades to make a way for people. The barricades installed here is causing traffic trouble for locals.
-Surat Mayor has proposed a special dedicated cell to remove hawkers who are blocking traffic with their stalls on main roads.
-SMC team joined by two local MPs is visiting Delhi today to discuss the comprehensive master plan of Surat railway station and issues related to railways. The central government has formed Indian Railway Station Development Corporation. Surat is one of the railway stations proposed to be developed.
-Surat’s new civil hospital has finally got a multi-storeyed state-of-the-art facility to keep medicines.
-New girls hostel has been opened at Agri polytechnic in Vyara which has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 4 crore.
-Similarly Rs. 4.5 crore new Agri polytechnic college complex and girls hostel building are opened by minister at Vaghai in Dang district.
