RS Pura, Dec 2: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, R S Chib today alleged that Kashmir centric PDP will do nothing for the PoK refugees and the border people of Jammu region.
Addressing a large rally at R S Pura town before filing nomination papers from Suchetgarh segment today, Mr Chib who was accompanied by AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik said that PDP has Kashmir Centric agenda and will do nothing for the people of border belt of Jammu who have been affected by Pak shelling many times and the PoK and  West Pakistan refugees besides the ex-servicemen.
Mr Chib said that the proposal of allotting plots of 5 marlas at safer places to border villagers was prepared during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad but the then coalition partners PDP led by Mufti Mohd Sayeed withdrew support and the proposal was stalled. Again, under the pressure of Congress, another proposal for DPs was sent to Central Govt but the BJP led Govt sent it back to the State Govt. He assured that after being elected as representative of the area, he would pressurize the Govt for providing alternative land to the border residents so that they can shift to the safer places with their families at the time of escalation of tension on the border.
Mr Chib said PDP always harps on opening Jammu-Sialkote road but Pakistani troops are targeting our farmers and innocent villagers in which many are being killed and getting injured. There is strong resentment among the border villagers against the Pakistani authorities. They want that peace is restored all along the borders and they could lead a peaceful life.
The Congress candidate further said that the Jat community is fighting since long for their inclusion in the OBC category which is already granted in States like Rajasthan and Haryana. “I assure that for getting Jat community included in the OBC category, I will pressurize the Govt and the same would be got done on priority by the Congress Government in the State”, Mr Chib added.
AICC leader Mukul Wasnik said that there  was no Modi wave in the state.  He said  people will reject BJP’s “propaganda about Modi wave”.   “Congress is rooted to ground. Those airing propaganda, will be defeated,” he maintained.
Cong observer Pawan Godara and State Youth Congress president, Shahnawaz  Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
