AC Milan's Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien said he is satisfied with the displays he is producing with the Italian side despite being given limited chances.

The former Chelsea midfielder, who joined Milan last January, made six appearances with the Rossoneri this season, including three starts.

He replaced injured midfielder Nigel de Jong in Milan's starting line-up during Sunday's 1-1 draw against cross-town rivals Inter Milan, making a fine impact that put him in line to have another starting role against Udinese next weekend.

"I am quite satisfied," Essien told football Italia on Wednesday.

"I have always looked to be ready for when the Coach has called me.

"Now we have to remain focus on the upcoming games until Christmas," he added.
