Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced to introduce two buses for
milkmen of Ghazipur to carry milk and related products to markets in Varanasi. Assuring to develop Ghazipur on the line of Etawah, the CM said that his government is pledged to promote
dairy development projects. Akhilesh was in Ghazipur on Monday to take part in a programme organized on the occasion of second death anniversary of
socialist leader Ramkaran Dada at
Tamkaran Yadav PG College in Sidhauna area.
The CM said that buses being introduced for milkmen will operate exclusively for carrying milk and byproducts to the markets of Varanasi and bring milkmen back home. Addressing a gathering, he said: "What Bharatiya Janata Party government at Centre had done in six months after formation of its government is known to everyone. The people of state, who saw SP government fulfilling all its promises, now have enough reasons to compare the functioning of Centre and state government." He also blamed Centre for not giving electricity quota to state. His cabinet colleagues showed him a list of demands, including of opening a medical college in Ghazipur, reopening of closed sugar mill, establishing milk processing plant and renaming Saidpur township after Ramkaran Dada. The CM ducked all these demands but announced to upgrade under-construction 200-bed hospital in Ghazipur to 500 beds. The CM said that five under-construction bridges on Ganga at Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Ballia will not face financial problem as the state government had released funds. He said that his government was also ensuring that no projects of road, electricity, water and health services suffer due to financial reasons. Highlighting achievements of his government, including pension scheme, he said to end the problem of unemployment big industries would be brought in the state. The CM unveiled a statue of Dada, released a book on his life and also renamed an under-construction bridge on Ganga at Saidpur after his name.
