Anupam Roy and
Raj Chakrabarty can't stop praising
Abir Chatterjee,
Soham and
Rudranil Ghosh after the three actors crooned a song for the latter's
Kath-Mundu and did a really good job of it.
“It is a situational song in which the three actors try to bully their boss (played by Saswata Chatterjee) by singing a Nepali folk song. Anupam, who is the film's music director, suggested that since the song required three male voices, it would get the right emotions if the actors themselves sung it.
So, we went ahead and I must say, the three have done a great job," Raj said.
Anupam, too, is happy with how the song has come out. “I knew Rudranil is a good singer, but to see Abir and Soham sing so well was amazing! Singing is about practice and since they are actors, one can't expect a professional performance from them. But they did a swell job. All three have given the right flavour to the song penned by Padmanabha Dasgupta," Anupam said with a smile.
But Raj's decision has also boomeranged on him to a certain extent, as the film's lead actresses —
Srabanti and Mimi — are up in arms, demanding a chance to sing in the film like their co-actors. “Both Mimi and Srabanti are hell bent on singing a track. As of now, to avoid their tantrums, I've said they will get to sing, but the truth is Sreya Ghoshal has already recorded the song they want to sing. Written and composed by Anupam, it is a feel-good song, and Sreya has done complete justice to it. So now, I'll have to ask my music director to compose one more song to placate the girls. God help us," Raj said with a twinkle in his eye.
