Lisbon, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Maritimo snapped a four-game losing skid with a 4-0 home win over Maritimo that saw the visitors finish the contest with eight men.

Boavista went behind after just nine minutes thanks to an own goal from Idrissa Mandiang, while the team had its first player sent off in the 58th minute when Philipe Sampaio collected his second yellow card.

Bruno Gallo converted a penalty kick on the hour mark to double the advantage for Maritimo, and things really came apart for Boavista when Brayan Beckeles and Mika were both sent off three minutes apart, leaving the visitors to play the final 20 minutes with eight men.

Maritimo took advantage by adding two more goals before the final whistle thanks to a penalty kick from Moussa Maazou and a goal from Dyego Sousa seven minutes from time.

Guimaraes briefly took the lead in the league on Friday following a 2-1 win over Moreirense that saw Jonathan Alvez score the winning goal in the 82nd minute. However, Benfica restored its two-point lead atop the table on Sunday with a 2-0 away win against Academica behind first-half goals from Nicolas Gaitan and Luisao.

FC Porto remained in third place, three points back of the leaders, after scoring five times in the second half against Rio Ave for a 5-0 victory, including three goals in the final few minutes of the match.

Islam Slimani tallied a pair of goals to lead Sporting Lisbon to a 3-0 win over Setubal, Braga handed last-place Penafiel a heavy 6-1 defeat, Belenenses and Arouca battled to a 0-0 draw, as did Gil Vicente and Nacional, while Pacos Ferreira claimed a 1-1 deadlock with Estoril thanks to a 73rd-minute equalizer from Paraiba.
