Medicine market at Mitford Hospital area catches fire

A fire broke out at a four-storey building, housing several drug stores, in the capital’s Mitford Hospital area on Monday.

Fire Service Control Room official Shahzadi Sultana told bdnews24.com that the fire broke out around 2pm.

“Four fire-fighting units put out the fire around 3.30pm,” she said that any casualties are yet to be reported.

Noyab Hossain, who lives in Mitford Hospital area in Old Dhaka, said that there are drug stores and medicine warehouses in all of the five floors of the building.

“Smoke was seen coming out from the first floor, but the exact location of the fire was not known,” he told bdnews24.com.
