Controversy erupts over Rajkumar memorial event

Rumours are abuzz that the government-sponsored programme that was held at the Palace Grounds on Saturday night was sold for anywhere between Rs 3 and Rs 3.5 crore.

Director TeshiVenkatesh, who was representing the Kannada Film Directors' Association in the meetings held to prepare the programme said, “In the very first meeting, we had opposed selling the programme to any one channel.Rajkumar belongs to everyone. Every Kannadiga should have the opportunity of watching this programme and it is sad to see Rajkumar's name is being used for commercial gains.
“As of now, no one knows anything about the financial dealings. So we are giving a memorandum to both the government and KFCC to come out with the complete details.“ Among the top stars who are performed were Ravichandran, Shivarajkumar, RameshAravind, PuneethRajkumar, ArjunSarja, Ganesh and the star couple Ambareesh and Sumalatha.
