The turnout during a three-day free medical checkup in Laucala Bay, Suva, has been good.

Hundreds of people were in queue at the FMF Gymnasium to take advantage of the free medical checkup being conducted by a team of medical volunteers from Korea.

They were performing free medical care in dental, eye disorders, treatment of skin disorders and the care of women giving births. Yesterday was the last day.

Good News Medical Volunteer Yurn Seo said the organisation was non-profit and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Korea.

“We provide actual support for developing countries that are without proper medical facilities, support health education and training of native medical professionals,” Miss Sio said.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Korea is usually supporting us and we have more than 5 branches around the world.”

Pritika Chand, 30, of Vatuwaqa said the service provided by the team was excellent.

“I had problems with my eyes so I got it checked and then I received a new pair of glasses,” Mrs Chand said.
