Hotel bouncers rough up policemen
Lucknow: Two policemen were allegedly roughed up by bouncers of a prominent hotel near Parivartan Chowk in Hazratganj area late Sunday night. The incident took place during a wedding ceremony.
As per reports, sub inspector K G Shukla and constable Jitendra were manhandled when they tried to intervene in a heated argument between the hotel staff and some journalists who were covering protest by a girl claiming to be wife of a Gomtinagar-based man.
The girl had reached the wedding venue and was claiming the man married her a few years ago and was getting married again.
Bouncers deployed at the gate stopped media persons when they tried to enter and talk to the groom and heated arguments and scuffle ensued. Police were called and they to pacify the two sides. Eyewitness said, bouncers roughed up even the cops. According to sub inspector K G Shukla, who complained receiving several blows, “FIR is being registered against the groom and hotel staff as police personnel on duty were attacked.”
