Uzbekistan to provide jobs to returning labour migrants

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will realize measures on ensuring employment of labour migrants, returning from foreign states, first of all from Russia, in 2015.
On 13 November 2014, Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved a programme on creation of jobs and ensuring employment of population for 2015, which envisages measures on providing jobs to population.
Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan said that the progamme includes measures on providing jobs to labour migrants, who are returning home due to difficult economic situations in foreign countries, including in Russia.
According to the programme, some 409,500 migrants will be employed in 2015. At the same time, major part of jobs will be created in Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Andijan, Bukhara and Ferghana regions.
In particular, the migrants will receive works domiciliary or they can start their own business. At the same time, they will receive support of the Government of Uzbekistan and commercial banks.
For example, they can receive unused state objects on zero redemption price or lands, freed in the result of elimination of unused objects, to organize production or provide services, investing their funds, earned during their work abroad.
The programme also envisages that the commercial banks will provide soft loans to migrants to create and develop their own business, which migrants can organize using their skills, received during work abroad.
