Pinky's family unhappy with CM's 60-second hearing and 'empty promise'
Around 25 villagers from Kasan, including the family of Pinky Chauhan, the MDU student who succumbed to burn injuries sustained during self-immolatation bid last month, met the chief minister at the public grievance meeting held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on Saturday. Even though the family got an opportunity to present a letter to the CM, they were not very happy with his response.
"We could hardly interact with the CM. He simply said that he is aware of the unfortunate incident and will get back to us soon. This is exactly what he said when we met him earlier, but nothing has been done so far," said Arun Chauhan, Pinky's brother. Due to lack of time, even Pinky's father, Virpal Singh, couldn't meet the CM. "The CMO can intervene and ask for speedy investigation in the case. We are just demanding the transfer of the lecturers so that the students of the college can come forward and help the police in the investigation. We were given just 60 seconds to present our case to the CM," said Prempal, a villager.
