Krishnan College Dux
It was a proud and an emotional moment for Swami Vivekananda College teachers as they farewelled their Year 13 students during the graduation at the school in Nadi yesterday.
It was also a special moment for Bal Sundran Reddy whose son, Bal Krishnan Reddy was named dux.
“It seemed like a dream come true to see my son given the top award in college,” Mr Reddy said.
“We had never pressured him to study because he used to plan his time for studies and leisure activities accordingly.”
Krishnan scooped the Science Award, and the best subject awards in English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. He wants to be a brain and heart surgeon in the future.
“Fiji has a shortage of brain and heart surgeons,” Krishnan said.
“Fijians face a lot of heart related illness and treatments are mostly conducted offshore. That has driven me to become a specialist in these fields.”
