Cardiff manager Russell Slade has said the club are looking at whether Spanish defender Juan Cala broke club discipline rules on social media.

Cala revealed on Twitter this week that he could leave the Sky Bet Championship club after being sent to train with the club's academy, although Slade said ahead of Saturday's trip to Watford that the centre-back "is doing his rehab work there".

"I just want the situation to be sorted out and to play here on (sic) in another club ASAP!! Thank you for support," Cala wrote on Twitter.

The 24-year-old centre-back, who was signed by former Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from Sevilla in January, has made only one Championship appearance this season having slipped down the pecking order below Bruno Ecuele Manga, Ben Turner, Sean Morrison and Danny Gabbidon.

We spoke to his agent two to three weeks ago about his situation and it was agreed we would look to move Juan on in the January transfer window.

"That is an internal viewpoint, whether he used it (social media) in an appropriate manner and whether he stepped over the mark. I have spoken to him," Slade said at his press conference ahead of the Watford game.

"We spoke to his agent two to three weeks ago about his situation and it was agreed we would look to move Juan on in the January transfer window.

"That's for Juan and his people to work on, probably in Spain, and that is what they are looking at.

"I believe in the summer there was some interest in him at that stage, but the football club turned that down.

"I have made it clear he can go as long as everything is right financially.

"I can't be more honest with him than that. We have a lot of talented centre-halves."

Slade refused to comment when asked if Cala was a disruptive individual but denied suggestions that the defender was being overlooked on the orders of club owner Vincent Tan.

"I am sure Vincent Tan has a view, but it was a management decision," Slade said.
