The young students of the Northern Christian Training Centre (NCTC) at Vunika, outside Labasa, graduated yesterday.

The budding private Christian school caters for 77 students from Year One to Year Six with its three active teachers.

The school’s headteacher, Epeli Naivakavodo, confirmed that Year Seven level would be introduced next year.

It will have the normal primary school subjects for the children plus home economics and technical drawing.

“Our students take normal subjects just like other schools but we focus also on the spiritual growth of the students,” Mr Naivakavodo said.

The 27-year-old headteacher expressed his high hopes for the school and is honoured to be trusted to handle the precious future of the 77 students.

“I feel good that another year has ended and I am excited that the children are graduating and thank the parents for trusting in the school system at NCTC and sending their children here,” he said.
