After releasing the music for Satyagraha (2013), T-Series has acquired the music rights of not one, but three films produced by Prakash Jha Productions — Crazy Cukkad, Fraud Saiyyan and Lipstick Wale Sapne. One usually expects socio-political dramas from the film-maker, but it would be interesting to recall that he has also directed the slice-of-life drama, Hip Hip Hurray (1984) that starred Raj Kiran and Deepti Naval, and the romantic drama Dil Kya Kare (1999) that starred Ajay Devgn, Mahima Chaudhry and Kajol.
This time around, T-Series has bought the music rights for all of his three films. When asked about the deal, Prakash Jha replied, “T-Series is the best label and a film’s music needs to be marketed well as it’s an important part of promoting the film. They offered to market the music and we are very excited that they’ll be promoting our music.” He further described these three films as quirky and fresh.
Bhushan Kumar from T-Series says, “I am happy to work with Prakash Jha and his team again after Satyagraha. We have acquired the music rights of his next productions Crazy Cukkad Family, Lipstick Wale Sapne and Fraud Saiyyan. The films are quirky and unconventional and so is the music.”
When asked about what the music would be like for the above three films, Jha said that it would be “very frothy, fresh and won’t have conventional love songs.”
Crazy Cukkad.. which stars lyricist Swanand Kirkire is about a quirky dysfunctional family and its music has been directed by Siddharth Suhas.
Both Lipstick Wale.. and Fraud Saiyyan are currently on the floors. “Lipstick… is the dream of four women living in a small town in central India while Fraud Saiyyan is about a man who makes marriages his profession,” said Jha as he described the upcoming films to Screen.
Fraud Saiyyan‘s music has been composed by Sohail Sen and Zebunnisa Bangash from the Pakistani-based band Zeb and Haniya has composed the music for Lipstick….
