Ajay Devgn’s second directorial venture Shivaay takes off in February

Ajay Devgn, who made his directorial debut with the Kajol and Devgn starrer U Me Aur Hum almost six years ago, will once again wield the baton for Shivaay. The film was being planned for three years, but according to the actor, he wasn’t getting the time to start it. But now the actor who will also be playing the protagonist in the film has taken a year off to concentrate completely on Shivaay which also stars Saira Banu’s niece Sayessha as his co-star.
“I have decided not to sign any film right now because I want to make Shivaay. It is a very contemporary film and will have a lot of action and emotional moments as well. So there’s intensity and drama. There is also the romantic angle and there will be romantic songs which will take the story forward. Shivaay is being planned on a very large scale and requires a lot of pre-production, time and attention,” said Devgn, adding that as a title, Shivaay is a very powerful name and the first look will reveal what it means.
The film like his last directorial venture will be very touching, he added, but in a different way. “U Me Aur Hum spoke about Alzheimer’s, a condition which was not really understood by people in India,” he said.
But presently, the actor-director is looking forward to his upcoming flick Action Jackson. The film will see him in three different avatars and depict his transformation from a calm and composed man to a dangerous one. “The three looks are inviting a lot of speculation, but I cannot talk about them as it will reveal the story. But I must mention that Prabhu’s (director Prabhu Dheva) sense of humour is fabulous. I like the fact that he doesn’t resort to buffoonery when he makes a comedy, but makes it more about comic timing.” And what are his expectations from the film? “I don’t know. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. The film has shaped up well and the buzz is very good. Everything looks very positive.”
