Top Sandalwood stars do the perfect balancing act with non-Kannada films

It’s not like they don’t have enough on their plate in Sandalwood already, but top Kannada stars today are balancing a non-Kannada presence too, as they shoot for some of the biggest projects being canned in neighbouring film industries. Here’s a look at who’s doing what…
Sudeep
While Sudeep won both critical and commercial acclaim for playing the negative lead in the multi-lingual film Eega, he has also been a part of films like Rann, Phoonk and Raktha Charitra.The star has now made time to play the negative lead in Tamil star Vijay’s upcoming film Vijay 58. The actor is simultaneously working on his Kannada biggie — Ranna, and has completed a cameo for Bahubali in Telugu.
Upendra
When Upendra takes up a film, one can be sure that it would be something hatke. Currently shooting for his yet-to-be-titled Telugu film with Allu Arjun and Rajendra Prasad, which, sources say is an interesting story about conflict between two families. The actor is also in the middle of production of his Uppi 2, and only weeks away from his controversial Kannada film Shivam (earlier titled Basavanna) hits the screens.
Ramesh Aravind
Easily the only ever-green Kannada star, what with him rocking screens for over four decades now, Ramesh Aravind has had a constant onscreen presence across most southern film industries. The actor-director is currently directing the Kamal Haasan-starrer Uttama Villain, in which he has a cameo. He is awaiting the release of his Kannada film Mahasharana Haralaya, and is shooting for the Tamil film Machan.
Adityaa
Kannada actor Adityaa takes pride in taking on roles that see him play negative shades, so much so that quite a few of his Kannada films too, see him play the anti-hero. However, his role in the Simbu-starrer Tamil film Vaalu will see him make an official debut as the negative lead. The actor was last seen in Kannada film Sweety Nanna Jodi and had done a special appearance in Bhajarangi.
