Oxford United have further bolstered their attacking options with a swoop for Bristol City striker Wes Burns.

Burns has joined the U's on loan until the end of the season, though can be recalled, and becomes the second signing of the day following the capture of John Campbell. Burns was allowed to link up with the League Two club following the arrival at Ashton Gate of Fulham striker Matt Smith. Robins boss Steve Cotterill told the club website: "With another forward coming in, we've been able to let Wes go out on loan. "He hasn't played the number of games this season that he enjoyed last year. This loan gives him the opportunity of regular game time. "We have a 24-hour recall clause, which we're not looking to use, but it gives us that security." The 20-year-old, who has scored two goals in six appearances this season, could make his Oxford debut against Cheltenham on Saturday.
