Saudi Airlines to enhance Manila service


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) said that it is honoring its position as one of the first Middle Eastern airlines that provide direct flight between Manila and the Kingdom, by inaugurating a new office for the carrier in Manila, Arab News reported.

The carrier, which started operating flights to the Philippine capital in 1982 with two weekly flights, said that it currently operates 11 flights a week between the Kingdom and the Philippines.

The Saudi national flag carrier also said that it has decided to change its B747-400 planes that it hsd been using for its Manila flights to B777-300 starting from January 2015.

The airline said that the change in planes comes as the number of passengers carried by the airline between the two countries increased from 43.388 in 1982 to 403.254 in 2013, with the carrier transporting 341.532 people to Manila during the January-June period of this year.
