No money for higher studies, medical student ends life
MAHBUBNAGAR: A 24-year-old medico committed suicide at Peddamadugula village of Madgula mandal in Mahbubnagar district on Wednesday, allegedly due to lack of financial support for his higher studies.
According to police, K Tirupataiah completed MBBS from a government medical college. He had been asking his parents to arrange money for his postgraduate studies in Delhi.

However, his parents told him that they were in financial trouble as crops had failed in their 10-acre agricultural field.
Tirupatiah decided to end his life after finding no means of raising funds to pursue higher studies. He consumed an overdose of sleeping pills after his parents went to the agricultural field.
After returning home in the evening, the parents were shocked to see him locked in a room. They shifted him to the local hospital where he was declared brought dead.
His suicide note said, “A person with good education is treated well in society but unfortunately education has become commercialized.” He asked his parents to at least ensure good education to his younger brother.
The parents said that they had sold away a part of their agricultural land for his education.
“We were prepared to sell more for his postgraduation. But we did not get a better price. The delay led to the suicide,” the distraught parents said.
