Celebs who piggybacked their way into Bigg Boss
The current season of Bigg Boss has two contestants related to ex Bigg Boss participants. While both Dimpy Ganguly and Nigaar Khan are known names in their own right, their association with ex-contestants Rahul Mahajan and Gauhar Khan respectively, helped create the initial flutter and buzz around them. Bigg Boss is known to have roped both known and lesser known names associated to celebs and ex-contestants to keep the show’s excitement quotient up.
We bring you a lowdown on other such contestants from the previous seasons.
DimpyGanguly
While Dimpy has had a previous stint on television, thanks to Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, the show that helped her get hitched with Rahul Mahajan (season 2 participant), her claim to fame remains her association with Rahul.

Sangram Singh
Wrestler Sangram Singh, a known name in the sports circuit, created quite a flutter for also being ex-contestant Payal Rohatgi’s boyfriend. During the show, his steamy pictures with Payal (season 2 contestant) were a topic of much discussion. The two are engaged now.

Jaya Sawant
Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya was helped by her daughter’s popularity and previous stint on Bigg Boss to secure a place in season 3 of the reality show. Jaya had claimed that her reason to enter the house was to make peace with daughter Rakhi, a season one contestant.


Nigar Khan
The other half of the reality show the Khan Sisters, Nigaar, is a known face in her own right but her entry into the Bigg Boss house created a buzz for being the last season’s winner Gauhar Khan’s sister.

Shraddha Sharma
Shraddha who has worked in a few television and film projects, got an entry into the season 5 of Bigg Boss and was known mostly for her relationship with Raja Chaudhary.

Raja Chaudhary
Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary got a ticket for the second season of the show partly based on the popularity of his celebrity wife Shweta Tiwari, who then participated in the show’s fourth season and went on to win it.
The couples that came together
Shilpa Sakhlani and Apurva Agnihotri
Shilpa and Apurva participated in the seventh season of the show. While Shilpa was eliminated quite early on, Apurva went on to have a longer stint in the house.
BakhtiyaarIrani and Tanaaz Currim
In season 3 of the show, Bakhtiyaar and Tanaaz participated together. Out of the two, Bakhtiyaar managed to stay put in the house till the final stage.
Delnaaz Irani and Rajev Paul
In the Bigg Boss season 6, estranged couple Delnaaz and Rajev participated together. On multiple occasions during the show Delnaaz said that she had moved on while Rajev was seen trying to win her back.
Ali Merchant and Sara Khan
Sara Khan participated in Bigg Boss 4 and went on to become the only participant ever to get married on the show. Her then boyfriend Ali Merchant entered the house as a guest for roughly a 10-day period when the two got married. They divorced two months later.
