Thanksgiving kicks off the season of visiting with friends and family -- and what better way to celebrate peace on Earth than uncorking bottles of Klingon Bloodwine.

While it's not as potent as actual Klingon Bloodwine (which is supposed to be twice as strong as whiskey), at 13 percent alcohol by volume, the soon-to-be-released beverage should definitely bring buzz at all of your holiday gatherings. It's actually a "medium-bodied red blend of Malbec, Syrah and Petit Verdot from the Paso Robles AVA in California," according to Vinport.com, which is now taking advanced orders for the wine. Shipping is set for December 8.

Also, while a good Klingon Bloodwine probably goes best with gagh ("a Klingon delicacy of serpent worms [pronounced 'gawk']," according to StarTrek.com), the Vinport version "can be enjoyed with grilled meats and mature cheeses."

If Bloodwine is a little too edgy for the company you'll be keeping during the holidays, Vinport will also be offering other bottles named after popular Trek episodes for sale with shipping on December 8.

Each bottle features a label designed by Juan Ortiz, who was commissioned by CBS to create an illustration for all 80 episodes of the original series. You can get bottles of Mirror Mirror, The Trouble With Tribbles or The City On The Edge Of Forever for $24.99 each. They each contain the same wine: a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Tinta Cao and Tempranillo grapes.

The Bloodwine doesn't feature a fancy-pants illustration on its label -- just the symbol for the traditional Klingon sword of honor, or "bat'leth" -- and you can bag a bottle for $19.99.
