Kenya will miss the services of four key players due to injuries as they prepare for the second leg of the International Rugby Board (IRB) World Series in Dubai on Dec. 5-6.

Head coach Paul Treu confirmed that the quartet of, Max Theuri, Biko Adema, Felix Ayange and Augustine Lugonzo will sit out the tour of Dubai because of knocks and niggling injuries.

"Injuries are part of the game and we have to bear with it. But losing some top players at one time is a bigger challenge also. We lose Lugonzo, who picked up a nock in Gold Coast, Australia. Hopefully he will make the team to Wellington in February," Treu said in Nairobi on Wednesday.

"Max Theuri will also be out for a while. We also have some of our experienced players like Biko Adema also injured, Felix Ayange still hasn't recovered from surgery."

The list does not, however, end there. Some players like Collins Injera, Lavin Asego are not available due to other commitments.

With other players slow to showcase their best talent owing to contract disagreements, Kenya might be facing one of its worst nightmare as they head east to Dubai.

"It was a bit of a challenge to put this team together but I think we have a good mix especially with some of the experienced players coming into the side, especially in the forwardd,"said Treu. "We are looking forward to the next two tournaments and hopefully we can build on the momentum we started."

A total of 12 countries - Kenya Uganda, Tunisia, Nigeria, Madagascar, Namibia, Botswana, Senegal, Zambia, Ivory Coast, South Africa and the hosts Zimbabwe will take part in the competition starting on Friday in Harare, Zimbabwe. Endite
