IEEE joins edX to launch solid state circuits  MOOC courses
MOOC courses for Electrical engineers and students

November 26 2014: Professional body, IEEE is parterning  edX, a non-profit organization founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to offer massive open online courses (MOOCs) and other continuing professional education courses to a worldwide audience on www.edX.org.
The first such course to be released under the IEEE banner will be “ISSCC Previews: Circuit and System Insights,” developed and sponsored by the International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC).
The course introduces several key circuit concepts and trends in a tutorial fashion, allowing participants to understand and appreciate the broad themes covered in the ISSCC conference.
These Previews are in the form of eleven, 10-to-18 minute modules taught by leading experts that establish the current state-of-the-art in several fields, including wireless and wireline communication, analog, digital, and memory. Each module will have a few optional questions to test the students understanding of the material covered. The eleven modules are:

Says Anantha Chandrakasan, Conference Chair of the ISSCC, the flagship conference of the IEEE Solid State Circuits Society (SSCS):  “The course will provide students with a glimpse of evolving technologies from world experts in integrated circuits,” said).
