The 26th Italian Job event - a rally of classic cars such as those driven in the famous 1969 film starring Michael Caine - will be stopping off in Luxembourb on route to Italy next year, with provisional dates being 29 October to 7 November.

A convoy of some 30 classic and modern Minis will be participating, to join up with the main event in Italy, with participants using the event as an opportunity to raise funds for charitable causes. Next year the organisers are hoping to reach their 3rd million in aid of children's charities, including the Variety Club.

The Italian Job is all about fun, camaraderie and, of course, Minis. It is an 8 - 12 day driving adventure exploring off-the-beaten-track places, stopping off in cities such as Trento, Modena, Turin, and Rome. Each year a different itinerary is chosen.

The sport content includes some time trials which provide all teams with the opportunity to measure their driving skills against each other, as well as a lap or two on International Grand Prix circuits such as Modena, Monza, Vallelunga and, of course, the Lingotto roof top test track.

On the way down to Italy for the start on 29 October, a number of participants will travel with the Service Team, leaving Dover on 25 October and travelling via Luxembourg, Switzerland, Lake Como and the Tuscany region, and then returning to the UK via Turin, Mulhouse and the Champagne area.
