When we heard about the new all-day breakfast joint at Kala Ghoda, our mind was filled with images of sausages, streaky bacon and runny eggs.But The Nutcracker is a vegetarian joint with the exception of eggs. So now the question is -would we miss the meat?
For our breakfast at lunch time, we started with the Breakfast in a Bottle (Rs 160), a blend of oats, milk, nuts, dates and honey, which was wholesome and delicious. Next up was the Akuri (Rs 130) served with crackers(!) and toasted pav.
The eggs had the perfect slightly runny texture and did the Parsi favourite complete justice. We then followed this with the Salli Eggs (Rs 190), which was not at all what we expected. The egg was completely hugged with salli, which made it delicious, but slightly dry.

We recommend you order a cooler-try the Passion Fruit & Basil (Rs 150). The Pesto Panini (Rs 260) and Asian Salad (Rs 240) that's filled with lots of healthy veggies is a good option for those looking for a heavier meal.
Desserts at The Nutcracker are deadly. Their Seven Layer Cookie (Rs 260) made by the devil of desserts himself is layer upon layer of goodness that combined crunch, crumble and chocolate. It is a must-have.
The Nutcracker seats about 25 people and while they don't have takeaway as yet, you can pick up breakfast on the go from 9 am to 11 pm. So, did we miss the meat? Not really.
