Pak-Latvia political talks held

ISLAMABAD - The third round of political consultations between Pakistan and Latvia was held in Riga at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia on Tuesday.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam, the Pakistan side was led by Nadeem Riyaz, Additional Secretary (Europe). The Latvian delegation was headed by Under Secretary of State, Eduards Stiprais.
The two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and explored possibilities of extending cooperation in political, economic, education and culture. There was also exchange of views on global and regional issues.
A memorandum of understanding on holding annual bilateral consultations between the two countries was signed on this occasion.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Latvia, Khalid Memon, and Latvian State Secretary, Andreas Pildegovics, signed the MoU.
It was agreed that the next round of political consultations would be held in Islamabad on mutually convenient dates in 2015.
