Yasmin, wife of Fahim Ansari, a 26/11 accused who was acquitted, has not seen her husband or spoke to him for over three years since he has been shifted to a prison in Uttar Pradesh, where he is being tried in another terror case.

Yasmin stays in Mumbra with her eldest brother-in-law Abu Bakhr Ansari's family. After the brothers separated and sold their family house in Jogeshwari. Abu plies an auto rickshaw for a living. Yasmin, on the other hand, has taken up tailoring to keep herself busy and earn a livelihood. She has a 12-year-old daughter.

Speaking to dna over phone she said: "I can't go out to work in an office; so, I have taken up tailoring to keep myself occupied. Plus, it helps me earn my livelihood through which me and my daughter can enjoy the simple pleasures of life."

Yasmin stitches clothes for their neighbours and relatives in Mumbra. "The wedding season has begun and I have several orders and deadlines to meet. The work load is so heavy that I am always running late."

Fahim is currently lodged in Bareilly central prison for his alleged involvement in an attack on a CRPF camp at Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, in 2007. In the 26/11 case, he was charged with supplying of maps of the targets to Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, this charge was dismissed and was acquitted.

The Ansari family separated in 2010, one of the reasons for this being the constant checks on the family members and the vigil by the police.

The only connect to her husband is the calls which she gets from the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, which is fighting the case for Fahim. The latest news which she received was that of the court having expedited the hearing of Fahim's case and directing the trial court to complete it within six months.

"I am hopeful that justice will prevail and Fahim will soon come back home," she said. As regards the 26/11 case, Yasmin says: "I do take a train from CST, but it's hard to remember the attack all the time. Hasn't time moved on?"
