Walt Hameline, who guided Wagner College to the 1987 Division III championship and won a school-record 223 games, is retiring as head coach after 34 seasons.
Hameline, 63, will remain the school's athletic director, a role he assumed in 1982.
Hameline is one of 36 NCAA coaches at any level to win 200 games at one school and is No. 49 on the all-time victories list. He steps down with a 223-139-2 career record and a legacy that includes being named FCS Coach of the Year following the 2012 Northeast Conference championship season.
Wagner associate head coach / offensive coordinator Jason Houghtaling will be introduced as Hameline's successor on Tuesday.
