When singer Revanth sings, his bassy voice gets intense and for the listener the rest of the world becomes unimportant. Like a fairy waving the magic wand, his voice keeps echoing in the ears even after he stops humming the tunes.
Perhaps, that’s how he was able to grab runner-up titles both in Super Singer-5 and Super Singer-7 and make a mark in the film world by getting selected for the best upcoming playback singer in the film Badrinath and Maa Cinema award in Rajanna within a span of four years.
Revanth was able to carve a niche in the highly competitive world of playback singing, lending his voice for more than 135 songs and working with popular music directors like Koti, M.M. Keeravani, Chakri, Thaman, and Mani Sharma.
When he was here in the city to take part in a cultural show, he spoke about his musical journey. “My success mantra is very simple. I never say no to any offer that comes my way. The first break in tinsel town was in the film ‘Maryada Ramanna’ in which I sang for Ennalaku pedda panduga vachche ,” he says.
No formal trainingAfter that Dammu, Prema Katha Chitram, Kotha Janta, Badrinath, and Bus Stop followed. With no formal training in classical music, what is the secret behind Revanth’s success in the field? “When I was studying in Bala Bhanu Vidyalayam in Srikakulam, I was adept at veda parayanam . This made me to pick up the nuances of music ever since my childhood,” the singer says.
Born in Srikakulam and brought up in Vizag, the 24-year-old singer says that music is the only field he is passionate about. “I lost my father when I was very young. My only ambition in life is to make my mother, ammamma (grandma), uncles and aunts feel proud of my talent in music,” he says. The singer will soon be trying his luck in acting as well.
