In most stories about students being awarded the dux trophy they would talk about how much they have had to sacrifice.

As for Rishikul Sanatan College dux Martin Feussner, he said it was a lot simpler.

“I really didn’t sacrifice anything. I think a lot of students dwell too much on thinking that if they don’t study hard they’ll fail,” Martin said.

So what was his secret – simply concentrating in class.

“I didn’t feel like I had to give up my leisure activities. When I’m in school it’s all school but when it’s play time it’s play time,” the 19-year-old said.

The ambitious student plans to attend a university in Germany next year.

“I want to become a physician. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” the pure science student said.
