PMC court orders part demolition of more illegal buildings
PATNA: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday again ordered demolition of illegal parts of various buildings in the city.
Manas Plaza belonging to one Mahesh Kumar has come under the PMC hammer. The G+6 structure has an absolute height of 25.49 metres against the approved 24.75 metres. Also, as per the rule, before constructing any building with an absolute height of more than 23 metres, an NOC from the Airports Authority of India is necessary.
However, no such NOC was submitted by the developers.
The PMC has declared the top four floors of the building as illegal and ordered their demolition within a month. Besides, the court has also ordered for demolition of the third and fourth floors and a small portion on the terrace of Vishwa Binda Kutir on Rajendra Path. There is also one G+5 building in Mahendru area. Its fourth and fifth floors have been declared illegal. There is also one encroaching projection of the building which needs to be demolished.
The PMC court has also declared as illegal the fifth floor and two flats on the fourth floor of a building under construction at Buddha Colony. Also, another G+4 highrise building on Nala Road will face demolition as its some parts have been declared illegal.
The PMC commissioner has directed the owners to demolish the illegal parts on their own in a month. If they fail to do so, the PMC will itself demolish them and the cost incurred on it will be realized from the landowners as land revenue. The commissioner has also appealed the PESU to snap power connection from the illegal parts of all these buildings.
