Eric Ripert closes on swanky $1.5M pad

Now that’s a chef’s kitchen!

Top chef Eric Ripert loved designing a luxury condo building’s kitchen so much that he bought one of the apartments.

Three Michelin starred chef Eric Ripert, of New York’s beloved Le Bernardin, has just closed on a $1.5 million two bedroom apartment at Chelsea Green, according to city property records.

The 1,272 square foot apartment, at 151 W. 21st Street, was last asking $1.65 million.

The eco-chic building boasts special kitchens designed by Ripert.

“Kitchens are designed by world-renowned chef Eric Ripert for Poggenpohl in beautiful teak lava finish with Caesarstone countertops,” notes the listings.

The kitchen comes with energy star rated appliances by Smeg, Liebherr and Bosch, in-cabinet recycling centers and high efficiency faucets by Grohe.

The apartment also boasts floor to ceiling Traco U-Value windows that let in the light while reducing the noise along with a “heat recovery system” that tempers cold air and delivers filtered fresh air year around, as well as “state-of-the-art” central heating and cooling.

Building amenities include a concierge service, a lounge with a billiards table and a coffee bar, and a gym, spa with a sauna, treatment room and shower.

There’s also a landscaped rooftop terrace, bike storage and private storage for each residence.

Ripert and his wife Sandra currently live on the Upper East Side.
