Jaipur girl and television actress Aakanksha Singh is all set to tie the knot with her longtime beau Kunal Sain, a marketing professional, to whom she’s been engaged since July 2013.
Aakanksha, a physiotherapy graduate, will get married in her home town Jaipur on December 7. The ceremony will take place in accordance with Rajasthani customs, in the presence of close friends and family members.
Confirming the news, Aakanksha told us, “Finally, the day has come and we have decided to take the plunge. It will be a very private affair with all the traditional ceremonies like mehendi, sangeet, etc.”

On being asked about the guest list, Aakanksha, popularly known as Megha from Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, said, “I have invited my friends from the show as well as the unit members. But I can’t say for sure whether all of them will be able to manage their schedules and come to Jaipur for the celebrations.” For the wedding, Aakanksha has decided to buy jewellery and her bridal trousseau from Jaipur.
“When it comes to wedding shopping, people come to Jaipur from all across the country. City markets are laden with stuff that can allure any bride-to-be. So I’m also buying things from here rather than opting for designer wear. I will be wearing a multicoloured lehenga in red, orange and blue for my wedding with Jaipuri jewellery, of course,” she said.
The 24-year-old will soon be seen on the small screen in a new show. “Since I’m busy preparing for my big day, I will start shooting after the wedding. It’s not that easy to shuttle between Jaipur and Mumbai,” she said, adding, “Marriage does not mean full stop. I will keep working in television and I have no plans to leave the industry. I’m lucky to have a sensible and cooperative life partner like Kunal, who knows that my career is equally important.”
