Bud Light is taking its Super Bowl experience to the next level, announcing that it will host its first-ever Bud Light House of Whatever for this year’s game. Fans can join the brand’s #UpForWhatever experience starting in January are part of its “Perfect Beer for Whatever Happens” campaign and offer three days of parties, concerts and activities in Arizona.

“Our fans have really enjoyed the ‘Up For Whatever’ activations we’ve done this year, from the ‘Epic Night’ spot during Super Bowl XLVIII to this summer’s incredible Whatever, USA, experience in Colorado,” said Alexander Lambrecht, vice president, Bud Light. “House of Whatever will keep that spirit going, so expect it to be the most unique party experience in Arizona. You could say it’s the Super Bowl version of Whatever, USA.”

Of course, Katy Perry will roar into this season’s Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, with the artist confirming her performance on Feb. 1. The announcement was made during the SNF game on NBC ahead of the launch of an original digital video featuring the singer produced by Pepsi in which Perry mulls how to add spice to the show. The brand is encouraging fans to tune into NBC leading up to Super Bowl XLIX to see what Katy Perry is planning. The Hyped for Halftime campaign will continue through the Super Bowl.

Speaking of which, Sunday Night Football’s Cowboys’ victory on NBC notched a 14.0/22 household rating/share in overnight Nielsen ratings. That marks the best overnight score for the franchise since Oct. 19, when Peyton Manning set a career touchdown pass record. Top markets: Dallas 34.4/50; San Antonio 23.7/37; Austin 20.9/38; Albuquerque 20.1/28; Richmond 19.4/29.
 
Meanwhile, CBS Sports’ Week 13 national doubleheader coverage of The NFL on CBS on Sunday, anchored by Miami/Denver and Washington/San Francisco, scored an average overnight household rating/share of 17.4/31, for an 18% rise over last year’s 14.8/27. The CBS national game window nabbed a 17.4/31 to rank as the channel’s second-highest rated telecast-to-date in the metered markets in the 2014 NFL season.

ESPN opened the books on its coverage of this weekend’s Iron Bowl and will carry the game for the first time since 2007 on Saturday at 7:45p with Brent Musburger, analyst Jesse Palmer and reporter Maria Taylor on microphone duties. In addition, SEC Network will carry a complimentary viewing option to ESPN’s game coverage that will see Paul Finebaum watch the game with analysts in the SEC Network studios as it plays out. Finebaum Film Room: Iron Bowl Live, at 7p, will include analysts Marcus Spears, Greg McElroy, Cole Cubelic and Booger McFarland discussing the game and breaking down plays.

The NFL announced a tweak in its Week 14 flex scheduling, and will shift the Patriots/Chargers game to 1p at FOX. Meanwhile, the Patriots/Chargers game will remain NBC’s SNF game for the week.

NBC opens its coverage of the 2014-15 NHL regular season on Friday at 1p with Rangers/Flyers in the 2014 NHL Thanksgiving Showdown on the broadcast channel. Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick has the call with analyst Eddie Olczyk, and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire.

MLB Commissioner-elect Rob Manfred is reshuffling the business, according to an SBD report. The article states that Manfred is looking to give MLB Advanced Media President and Chief Executive Bob Bowman, and MLB Network’s Tony Petitti greater roles as the league merges the boards of directors for MLBAM and MLB Enterprises into a single entity

MSG Network offers viewers the 30-minute special Carmelo Anthony: Made in NY, following Anthony’s 2014 free agency period as he travels to Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston to meet with the Bulls, Lakers, Mavericks, and Rockets. The series will premiere with a commercial-free airing on Tuesday, December 2 at 10:30p, following the Knicks home game against the Brooklyn Nets.

BTN unveiled plans for its 2014-15 wrestling coverage, presented by returning sponsor Cliff Keen Athletic, with the television schedule set to carry the most-ever events as well as the entire 2015 Big Ten Wrestling Championships.

Nike renewed its vows with the United States Olympic Committee, locking in a sponsorship extension through 2020 with the deal set to include footwear and apparel for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes, including the medal stand uniform that will be worn on the award podium and during medal ceremonies at the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, and 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Back to the Super Bowl. GoDaddy revealed plans to return to the 2015 game with a thirty-second spot “encouraging business owners to put their businesses online with a domain name and website.” The brand will bring in a puppy in a spot dubbed Journey Home, joining long-time GoDaddy spokeswoman and NASCAR star Danica Patrick. This marks GoDaddy’s eleventh consecutive Super Bowl campaign.

Brazil unveiled the mascot of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, according to the AP, which will be a “bright yellow cat-like figure, which also combines elements of monkeys and birds” designed to represent the animal life in the country. Meanwhile, the mascot for the Paralympics is a “mopped-headed doll with leafy hair, meant to represent the vast diversity of the flora in Brazil.”

DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY

ESPN lined up all eight first round games of the NCAA Division I Football Championship featuring the best FCS teams for ESPN3. The action kicks off on Nov. 29 with Sacred Heart/Fordham. Second-round action launches Dec. 6 from the campus of the top eight seeds and carried on ESPN3. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 will combine to carry the quarterfinals (Dec. 12-13), semifinals (Dec. 19-20) and Championship from Frisco, Texas (January 10).
