Historic 72.3% voter turn out in Kashmir, Jharkhand records 61.92% vote
Jammu/Ranchi, Nov 25: Jammu & Kashmir witnessed a historic 72.3 per cent voter turnout in the first phase of the assembly election held on Tuesday while Jharkhand saw 61.92 turnout.
7:00 pm: Historic 72.3% voter turnout in Kashmir valley; Bandipore voter turnout at 70.3% after a 35.24% turnout during LS elections.
6:35 pm: Record 80.10% voter turnout in Sonawari, 77.15% turnout in Gurez.

6:45 am: For the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, BJP is fielding candidates for most of the 87 seats. The party, which already has a strong vote-bank in the Hindu-dominated areas of Jammu, hopes to win more than 50 seats.
