Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard has split from long-standing coach Nick Saviano despite a hugely-impressive season.

This year saw Bouchard reach her first Grand Slam final at the All England Club, where she lost to Petra Kvitova, while she was also a semi-finalist at the Australian and French Opens.

Such results saw her finish the year ranked seventh in the world and win the WTA's most improved player of the year award but Saviano revealed on Monday that the pair were now going their separate ways.

In a statement posted on his academy website, Saviano said: "Genie and I have decided that it is best for us to end our player-coach relationship and to move in different directions for 2015."

He added: "Helping Genie grow from an ambitious 12-year-old to number five in the world (earlier in the year) has been an exciting journey.

"This past year traveling with Genie to all of the majors has been a wonderful experience with memories I will cherish for a lifetime. I have no doubt that Genie will accomplish great things. I wish her all the best."
