SRINAGAR: Referring to the recent speech of Prime Minister, Narinder Modi wherein he expressed his wish to follow Kashmir policy of ex-Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, prominent and most influential Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday said, "What was extra ordinary about Vajpayee 's mission towards Kashmir."

In a statement Geelani said, "He should have retrospect over the grim situation and the pain the people facing in presence of 8 lakh forces personnel and 28 thousand armed village defense committees, but he too failed to deliver any good. Since last 67 years of turmoil lakhs of people were brutally killed, women sexually assaulted, properties worth billions looted and torched and thousands of youth were subjected to forced disappearance."

"It was India who in 1948 approached United Nation with a plea for its interference and mediation , appealed United Nation and while rejecting the stance of India, UN passed more than 18 resolutions in favor of referendum for Jammu and Kashmir," said Geelani and added India instead of following the ruling of United Nations and with "all its military might occupied the state."

"It is the case of more than one crore people and this issue should be resolved as per guidelines of United National and keeping in view the aspiration of people of Jammu and Kashmir," the chairman of faction of Hurriyat said.

Strongly criticizing PDP leader Muzafar Beigh for his statement wherein he had said that PDP and pro-freedom parties are perusing the same agenda, he said, "It is a blatant lie."

Lashing at Muzafar Beigh for his false claims he asked him that if he is following the same policy as Hurriyat then instead of contesting elections he should have been in jail as Hurriyat leaders are. "PDP is following the deceptive politics and deceiving the people," he alleged.

Taking dig at Omar Abdullah for his fluctuating style of politics, Geelani said, "We are observing that during their election campaign they are rhetoric about the resolution of Kashmir and deception and fraudulent politics is special sphere of Sheikh dynasty. They are opportunists and it is recorded in history that for securing the seat of power they even joined hands with Congress and it was the National Conference that never hesitated calling congress men as worms of gutter."

Reiterating his stand for election boycott, Geelani asked people to consider and take care about the sacrifices presented by martyrs.' "Their blood is so precious and India portrays these elections as a substitute against self-determination," he added.
